Is this book informative about the personality of
thE author or is it only a description of some
episodes of his life?>>
It is candid, though Willeford could not help making
literature even
while telling mundane stories. I highly recommend this
absorbing and
amusing book, and its companion, _Something About a Soldier_.
It's
curious that so few mystery writers have written
autobiographies. I wish
Hammett had written one; instead, we have the terrible (and,
apparently,
innacurate) memoirs of Lillian Hellmann with Hammett thrown
in.
