Bill Crider:
<< At the Bouchercon last fall, Hal Rice and I were
both still complaining that after hearing Nevins rave about
the wonderfulness of HELL IS A CITY, we went out and found
it. And both of us disliked it. I could hardly finish it. So
I never read anything else by Ard. >>
I think I posted about this book about six months ago. I read
it because it was at the top of an alphabetical list put
together by Ed Gorman in The Big Book of Noir. I agree with
Rice and Crider. I don't think the book has aged well.
