Since this is the most erudite group of book people in
existence I will bring my problem here.
I am seeking a paperback published probably in the
early 1950s and I have neither author nor title. The cover
shows a man in a black charro outfit (Mexican cowboy) on a
rearing black horse. The story concerns the kidnapping of an
Eastern gentleman sold as a slave to work with Indians in a
mine. He escapes and leads a band of outlaws.
As I am not a reader of Westerns, I have not a clue,
am seeking the book to bury a childhood memory. Any direction
much appreciated.
Victoria
